The fall of Steinhoff was the biggest corporate scandal in South African history, wiping some R200 billion off the JSE. Steinheist follows the money: how CEO Markus Jooste built the furniture empire and hid the fraud, the investors and pensioners who lost out, and how the net finally tightened around Jooste in the years before his suicide in March 2024.
